Nocciolata - A Review and a Give Away

I was recently contacted by Rigoni di Asiago to do a taste review and then host a give away of their Nocciolata product.  Nocciolata is an organic hazelnut spread with cocoa and milk and it is delicious - very rich and creamy!

Take a look at the awesome gift pack they sent me to sample.  You know me, I'm crazy about aprons and I can always use a new cap.  They sent 2 of their 9.5 oz. jars of Nocciolata and several packets of small travel size squeeze spreads.  What a great idea - perfect to toss in your purse or backpack along with some fruit or crackers for a quick pick me up.  And opened jars do not have to be refrigerated.

If you're not familiar with Nocciolata, let me tell you a little bit about it.  It's made with dark chocolate, Italian hazelnuts, brown sugar, skim milk and Bourbon vanilla extract.  It's an organic product made with natural raw ingredients, no artificial flavors or colors, no hydrogenated fat and it's gluten free.

There are a variety of ways to enjoy Nocciolata - you can eat it as a spread on bread or toast, or add it to your favorite recipes for cupcakes, brownies, cookies, crepes or muffins.  My personal preference is to eat it on a toasted bagel with natural peanut butter - Oh so yummy and a perfect breakfast for me!!  I also like to use it as a dip with fresh apples and bananas for the perfect late afternoon pick me up.

It's also pretty darn good to just eat right out of the jar with a spoon.  Ooops, did I just say that out loud??

How would you like to win a Nocciolata gift pack and try it out for yourself?  The good folks over at
Rigoni di Asiago are hosting a give away right here, especially for my readers.  All you have to do is leave a comment below and tell me what you'd do with your free gift!  The contest is open until next Tuesday Sept. 9th at noon.  I'll then choose a winner using the Random number method and Rigoni di Asiago will send you your gift.

In the meantime, please go over and check out their products and recipes on their website.
Check out their Facebook page here and see what they have on Pinterest as well.  Now, go leave a comment!

Julie's Little House Give Away

Two weeks ago I won a giveaway over at Julie's Little House.  Julie has a fun blog where she shares her passions for cooking, knitting, gardening and fixing up old furniture.  She also has another blog, Dinner at Julie's that you are going to want to visit.  She puts together some yummy looking meals with great photos.  I may just have to make a trip to Ontario with my fork and spoon and knock on her door in time for dinner!

Anyway, this is what I won...

The raspberry & cream shortbread cookies are really good.  I love raspberry anything and these are fantastic!

I was anxious to try the Lady Grey tea.  Practically all I drink is tea - iced tea, hot tea, tea that's been sitting on my stove for 2 days.  However, I usually only drink plain, Lipton tea, not flavored with anything.  I tend to shy away from flavored teas.  The Lady Grey is a delicate blend of black tea with bergamot, lemon peel and orange peel.  I was pleasantly surprised at how good it was.  Looks like I'll be switching up my tea assortment a little.

I haven't decided what I'm going to use the pretty cup and saucer for yet.  I'm open to suggestions.

The final, and my personal favorite, was the silver tray.  It's the perfect size to sit on my dresser and display my shell jewelry pieces.   Some of you probably recognize the jewelry because it's all hand made by my good friend Della, over at Del's Shells.  Isn't the tray perfect for holding my jewelry?

Thank you Julie for a fun give away!  Be sure to stop by and say hi to her at Julie's Little House.

Hangin' with my Gnomies

How cute is this???

I have been truly blessed with some of the best blogger friends!  Yesterday a package arrived from Cathy over at Stitchfork Designs.   A lot of you are familiar with her blog and her beautiful work.  She also did a cute guest blog for me here.  When I opened the package I found this totally unexpected gift - a hand towel with this adorable little gnome on it and my initials.  Isn't Cathy creative?

We have lots of holidays on the horizon - Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years.  Now's the time to start thinking about unique gifts and Cathy has the creative mind to design something for everyone.  Visit her website and her FB page.  I can promise you that you will fall in love with her products.

Cathy even posted this photo on her blog of my towel with a pair of hiking boots - how well does she know me??  Cathy, thank you again for such a lovely gift - I love it!

August Lightload Towel Giveaway

The dog days of summer are just around the corner, which is hard to believe, because with the excessive heat we've been experiencing this June and July, I feel like the dogs have trampled me already!  One item that I keep with me at all times is a lightload towel.  Check it out.....

Hard to believe, but these compact little disc's open up to a generous 12" x 12" square.

I did a gear review on these babies last February and I liked them for a variety of reasons.  First off, they are super absorbent.  Second, they are really convenient because of their size.  You can toss one almost anywhere - a pocket, the glove compartment, on the boat, in a tackle box, in your backpack, baby bag, purse, a suitcase.  The possibilities are endless.

Lightload sent me one of their beach size towels to try and I've been using it at the lake all summer.  The beach towels measure a generous 36" x 60".  According to the Lightload website they come in a variety of colors.

I used mine mostly on the pontoon boat and to sit on in the kayak.  It was perfect to use for drying off after  impromptu leaps into the lake.  The beach size towel sells on the Lightload website for $ 9.95.

The Lightload towels come in a variety of sizes - the 12" x 12",  12" x 24" and of course, the full size beach towel.

They are also extremely affordable - the 12" x 12" package of 2 is only $ 2.75.  Plus, you can get them custom designed with your own logo, which would be a fun idea for a give-away or a company promo.  They sell them on their website and in different stores around the country.

But the towels I really like the most are the 12" x 12" ones.  I tell you, I have used these towels for everything.  I personally keep them in my car, on the boat, in my backpack, my tackle box and in my kitchen.  We've used them to wash dishes, clean the boat, wipe our hands when fishing, sit on when the car seats are hot, in my kayak.   Chablis even keeps one in her purse and when I asked her for it, the first thing she did when we got back home was make me give her another one to stick back in her purse.  She's very possessive about her lightload towels.  They are great!

Are you intrigued?  Would you like to check them out for yourself?  Lightload has generously given me some samples to give away.  Starting today and running until next Saturday, August 4th at 5 pm central time, I'm having a giveaway and 4 lucky people are going to win a package of towels.

How would you like to win a pack?  I'm going to pick 4 winners - It could be you.  It's super easy....

  • Be a current follower of my blog or become a new follower.  Leave a comment telling me which one you are.
  • Please leave another comment in the comments section below, telling me what you'd like to use Light Load Towels for.   That gives you a second chance to win.

Del's Shells - I'm a Winner!

Last week Della over at Del's Shells had a give away and I was one of the lucky winners!  Della was celebrating hitting 100 followers on her blog by giving away 2 of her gorgeous necklaces....

The shell she used is beautiful and really different.  It's called a heart cockle shell and it really does look like a heart.  The chain is a copper coated brass chain and she attached freshwater pearls and crystal beads.

When Della ships out her beautiful creations she takes great pride in her presentation.....

Della is working very hard to get items prepared for an extremely special event.  She was recently contacted by the UCF and has been invited to perform a seashell jewelry demonstration at an Agriculture event that is taking place in October of 2012.  People from all over the United States will get the unique opportunity to watch Della make her beautiful jewelry.  At the same time she can also sell her jewelry so she wants to have a good inventory of her one-of-a-kind items.  Each piece is hand made and slightly different.  I just know that she is going to be a huge success at the event.

Please stop by her blog and say hello and go over to her Etsy shop if you're looking for a gift for someone special in your life.

Thanks again for my beautiful necklace.  You know I'm your biggest fan!

Lavender Dreams & Sunshine Bliss

A few weeks ago Diane over at Lavender Dreams had a give away featuring jewelry made by Shanti over at Sunshine Bliss.  And I was one of the lucky winners!

I received this beautiful, and right up my alley, blue bracelet that is accented with a tiny turtle and seahorse.  It's made of recycled sea glass colored beads and lead free turtle and seahorse dangles.  The leather cord is a pretty blue and feels nice and sturdy.  It's also accented with a wave button.

When I received the package from Shanti, this is how it was wrapped....

Here's a few more photo's showing off the bracelet....

It lays exactly where I like it to fall on my wrist and it matches nicely with my silver bangle that I never take off and my blue ring.  It's a winner!!

Shanti has a FB page and an Etsy shop.  She has a wide variety of jewelry and I particularly liked the combination of blue and frosted blue beads that are in the bracelet I won.  Please check out her shop.

Many thanks again to Diane and Shanti for having such a fun give away!

A Beautiful Headband Win!

I recently won a give away over at The Pless Press.  Amber was having a giveaway and the prize was a gorgeous headband, hand crafted by her crafty friend Natalie.  Natalie has a shop named Ah noo shig, which is the phoenic spelling of Anoushig, which means pretty, sweet and beautiful and is a nod to her Armenian heritage.

I think Natalie's headbands are gorgeous.  They are so creative.  Check out the one I won...

I really like the colors and they perfectly fit my personality.  Isn't it adorable?

Clif Bar Giveaway!

It's GIVE AWAY TIME!!!

Did you know that January 21 is National Granola Bar Day? Well Clif Bar does, and to celebrate we would love to send you some samples of CRUNCH, CLIF Bar’s crunchy granola bar that provides one serving of organic whole grains, with a fresh baked texture.

I am really excited about having my very first giveaway contest and Clif Bar is doing me the honor of being my first Give Away Sponsor.  In fact, they are giving away not one, not two, not even three - but four boxes of their Clif Crunch granola bars.  That means 4 lucky readers will each be receiving one box of Clif Crunch.

With the recent addition of Blueberry Crisp and Chocolate Peanut Butter, CRUNCH now comes in 6 delicious flavors that provides the energy you need, whatever the adventure.

CRUNCH into National Granola Bar Day:
- Great source of fiber
- 3-4g of protein
- No artificial sweeteners or preservatives
- Fewer carbohydrates compared to the original CLIF Bar for days of lighter activity
- Crunchy texture
- 2 crispy bars per package

Personally, I love Clif Bars.  They are my favorite snack when I'm finished working out and I eat one every time I leave the gym.  They are my go-to snack when geocaching and hiking.   They are the perfect size to keep in my jacket pocket or a backpack.

I want to tell you a quick, funny story.....  I got a box of their White Chocolate Macadamia Nut Bars for Christmas.  (My personal favorite) I put the box on the shelf in my pantry.  I ate one bar and then the next time I went for another bar, I noticed that 3 of them were missing.  It turns out that my daughter keeps eating them.  I wrote MOM's BARS across the front of the remaining ones in magic marker so she stops eating them on me!   True story!

The Clif Bar Company contributes 1% of sales to Environmental Organizations.  They give back to the community by donating employee time to help around the country with different projects and causes.  Plus they strive to reduce their ecological footprint in all aspects of their company - and what they are doing must be working because their efforts have been recognized across the country.  Please go check out their website to get more in-depth information on all they do.  It will be well worth your time.

Clif Bar also has a Facebook page so you might want to go visit and LIKE them.

So here's how you can enter to win -

** Follow my blog - either be a current follower or become a new follower.

and.......

**  Leave a message in the comment section below letting me know why you love granola.

Since National Granola Bar Day is this Saturday, the 21st, we'll leave the contest open until Sunday the 22nd, at midnight CST.   I'll pick 4 winners on Monday morning and announce them on my blog.  If you're one of the lucky winners, I'll need you to email me your contact information within 48 hours of announcing the winners.  Clif Bar will then get your box of granola crunch mailed out to you.  It's as simple as that.

Don't miss out on this great giveaway opportunity.  I'd like to give a big THANK YOU to Clif Bar for sponsoring the contest!

Thank you Ms. Bake-It and Shellbelle!

A couple of weeks ago I entered a give-away over at Ms. Bake-It's blog.  Don't go to her blog unless you want to leave hungry!  She makes the most delicious looking dishes and her photos of what she makes will cause you to drool all over your keyboard!  Visit her blog here:
http://msbake-it.blogspot.com/

Anyway, guess what??  I WON!!  Insert photos of me doing cartwheels here if I had of photo of me doing cartwheels.

My prize was a $ 40.00 gift card to Shellbelle's Etsy shop.  You have to visit Shellbelle's blog because she has such interesting things to say and show us, like World Oceans Day when she hosted an online beach party.  She had my full attention at the words OCEAN and BEACH - 2 of my favorite words.  Visit her blog here:
http://www.shellbellestikihut.com/

So I won my gift card and I skeedaddled over to Shellbelle's ETSY shop at:
http://www.etsy.com/shop/shellbellestikihut?ref=pr_shop_more

I immediately picked out a Driftshell heart.  And here it is.  It just arrived and I have to tell you, the photo's don't do it justice.  IT IS GORGEOUS!  I love it.

It is so finely crafted and sturdy.

And while I was browsing her store, I also purchsed this Driftshell photo frame.  Shellbelle makes these beauties with shells that she finds herself.  They are truly works of art!

Since I just got back from our annual "Girls Only" trip to Sanibel Island, I inserted a photo of us phooning on Cayo Costa Island.... You can read about "Phooning" here:  http://snugharborbay.blogspot.com/2011/03/do-you-phoon.html

Doesn't it look great?  Now I have to go buy a shelf for my front room so I can proudly display these 2 new beachy additions.

A heartfelt thanks to Ms. Bake-It and Shellbelle for my win.  You girls really made my day!
