It's time for Flashback Friday over at Seaside Simplicity. Flashback Friday is open each week from 6pm Thursday evening until Midnight on
Sunday. I hope you will join the fun!
My photo this week is of me and was taken in 1982. I was visiting my sister in Colorado and we were climbing around in the mountains. I can see that my habits haven't changed much in 20 years. LOL!

Flashback Friday 02-15-2013
If it's Friday, then it must be time for Flashback Friday over at Seaside Simplicity.
My flashback photo this week is of my great, great grandparents - Joachim and Augusta Rohwedder.
They bought their home in Joliet, Illinois in 1892 and it stayed in the family continuously until 1961. Their house is now on the Historic Register...
If you'd like to read more about this historic house and see some more pictures, please read my post about it here.
And don't forget to go join the fun at Seaside Simplicity.

Flashback Friday 2-1-13
It's Friday, so that means it's Flashback Friday with my friend Martha
over at Seaside Simplicity.
My photo this week is again water themed. This photo was taken at Lake of the Ozarks and that's me in front with the oars, taking my 2 sisters across the lake to "The Patio" for cheeseburgers and thick chocolate milk shakes. They had the best cheeseburgers and shakes, so good in fact, that I can still remember how good they tasted.
We would row over to the dock, tie up the boat and then we had to take a cable car to the top of the hill where the restaurant sat, overlooking the lake - what a great view! Round trip probably took us an hour and a half and I'll bet my mom and dad loved having some "peace and quiet" time. LOL!
Head over to Seaside Simplicity for this weeks blast into the past! Feel free to join in on the fun.

Flashback Friday 1-25-13
It's Friday, so that means it's Flashback Friday with my friend Martha over at Seaside Simplicity.
This weeks flashback photo is of me playing the "Hanging Marshmallow" game at my birthday party.
My mom organized the best birthday parties for us when we were kids. My birthday is in August, so we usually got to play the party games outside. Lots of fun games like the hanging marshmallows, walk across the yard with cotton balls on your wooden spoon, drop the wooden clothespins into the glass milk jug, pin the tail on the donkey, pop a confetti filled balloon over your head and the ever popular duck, duck, goose. Fun times!
I don't know if you can tell, but we're all wearing little party hats, the girls always wore nice dresses and the boys wore dress shorts and shirts. I can see part of my mom on the right side, and she's definitely wearing a nice dress as well. Childhood birthday parties were always a huge neighborhood event and much looked forward to.
Hop over to Seaside Simplicity and join in on the fun!

Flashback Friday 1-11-13
I am playing along with Martha at Seaside Simplicity for Flashback Friday. On Fridays she's posting old photos - how much fun is that?
A lot of my old photos are centered around water. That's me sitting on the side of the pool in the blue stars and stripes bathing suit. Gotta dig that orange bathing cap! I was 10 years old.
Got any old photos you'd like to share? Come join in on the fun and link up your old photo.
