My buddy Mike McLaughlin is awesome, determined and one of the most inspiring people I've ever known. In the last month, Mike set out and completed his personal challenge of climbing 48 - 4000 ft. peaks in New Hampshire, all in the name of neglected and abused children. Round of applause for a job well done!
Mike at the Summit of Bond, too exhausted to even stand but never too tired to offer up a winning smile....
His final summit, after a 20 hour day, atop Bondcliff....
Mike was accompanied for the majority of his quest by his wife, Brooke, who gallantly completed all 5 peaks in Vermont and 39 out of 48 peaks in New Hampshire. Very impressive Brooke and a job well done.
Mike hiked in support of the following organizations: the Family Resource Center, Marygrove, Foster Care India, Logos School, and TeamMBA. You can go here and here to read his final 2 posts on his blog about this challenge.
Please stop by his Hike4Kids FB page and tell him congratulations.
Next up for Mike - a cross country bicycle and speaking tour and he's working on his book about last year's Appalachian Trail hike. Mike is an inspiring and selfless man, one who truly puts the good will of others before himself. He gives his time and energy to improve the lives and futures of others. The world is a better place because of him.
Yay!!!!!! What an accomplishment. J
ReplyDeleteI'm so proud of them!
DeleteCongrats to Mike and Brooke! Good people. :-)
ReplyDeleteYes, they certainly are. Very special.
DeleteThat's a fabulous accomplishment, BRAVO! Must have felt amazing doing all of that... :o)
ReplyDeleteOn a side note I tried commenting on this via my iPhone after reading it through Bloglovin', but couldn't comment! *sniff* There was no way to "sign in" to the Google system! Arrrrgh!!! :o(
I have an issue with the comments thing too. Sometimes it makes me open a new window to leave a comment. Is it giving you that option?
DeleteThe world would be a better place if there were more selfless people like Mike and his wife who do things for causes bigger than themselves.
ReplyDeleteOh Sandy, I totally agree.
