We went to Chatfield State Park which is located in Littleton. Chatfield Park is huge and there is plenty to do, but all I cared about was horseback riding. We booked a trip for first thing in the morning, before it got too hot out. They have about 50 horses in residence there and they were beautiful looking horses and seemed very well cared for.
We saddled up and took off with a guide and a junior guide in training.
Along the way we found out that our guide grew up in Highland Park, IL. What are the chances of that? We rode for an hour and I liked it because we had our choice of riding along a trail through the woods or out on the prairie. Of course we chose the prairie with the mountains in the distance.
We rode past a lake and this cute little prairie dog...
We went for an hour ride, which was perfect, and our butts thanked us!
The scenery was gorgeous and it was a perfect way to start the day.
Your smiles show how much you and Chablis liked it, or were excited to be on the horse and ready to go!
ReplyDeleteI haven't been on a horse for about 10 years!
