Re-purposed Tool Boxes and Cutting Boards

In between our trips back and forth to the lake I've been trying to get caught up on some of my re-purposing projects.   I have so much stuff to do and I can't seem to get caught up.  I can't even show you the before's on most of this stuff because I lost a ton of photos when my laptop crashed back in June.  Here's a shot of one of the wooden tool boxes - I picked up 2 of them and refinished them.

I think this is such a fun way to re-purpose old tool boxes and give them new life....

They are cute little crates for coffee service, napkins and silverware, vases or even flowers....

The Owl cutting board is super thick and heavy.   I sanded it down and then stained it with coffee grounds....

I love the multiple colors and a coat of coconut oil really brings them out....

The pizza server was also sanded smooth and stained with coffee grounds before I stenciled the word Pizza on one side and then used my wood burning kit on it....

Coconut oil on this brought out the nice patterns and colors of the wood.

All items are for sale at The Hodge Podge in Benton, KY.

Refinished Oak Cabinet

I had this great oak TV cabinet at the lake house that we didn't use anymore, so I decided to refinish it and sell it.  First I removed all the doors and shelving.  The large door had a leaded glass insert - so 1980's, so I took it out and Louie went and bought some grating to replace it with.  If anyone is interested in the leaded glass piece, it's for sale!  Great for all kinds of projects.

I gave the cabinet a light sanding....

And then 2 coats of gorgeous gray paint and a good waxing....

All the hardware and the new grate got spray painted white and then the hardware was distressed....

Then we took it over to The Hodge Podge in Benton, Kentucky.  If you're at Kentucky Lake and anywhere near Benton, you need to stop by The Hodge Podge.  They have all kinds of great items for sale there like hand crafted goodies, vintage items, furniture, odds and ends.  Great stuff!

This is the first piece of furniture that I've re-done and taken to a shop on consignment.   We'll see what happens....

Fingers crossed.....I hope she sells....
