Flashback Friday 3-8-13

It's Flashback Friday at Seaside Simplicity and I always like to join in with something old and cherished.  This weeks photo is of my silver charm bracelet.....

I got this charm bracelet when I was about 10 years old.  Each birthday and Christmas I got to add a new charm.  It was always so much fun to go to the store and stare at the charms and try to narrow it down to just one

  • The Bible charm has a small hole in it and when you hold it up to the light and look inside you can read The Lord's Prayer.
  • Tinkerbell
  • Praying hands
  • Dachshund because we had a dachshund
  • A painters palette
  • The Santa with his sack
  • The only gold piece is the face with my name on it
  • A pair of ice skates because I loved to skate
  • A sign that reads Happy Birthday
  • A rabbit from Alice in Wonderland
  • A Girl Scout insignia because I was so active in the scouts.
This charm bracelet is a treasured possession and I still wear it once in awhile.  Do you have any jewelry that you cherish?

Linking up with Seaside Simplicity.  I'm also linking up with Claudia over at Mockingbird Hill Cottage for her My Favorite Thing.  Go over and say hi!

  4. So nice that you still have your charm bracelet. I had mine for years and not sure where it went. I guess it just got lost along the way. I remember how excited I would be whenever I got a new charm that represented something new.

Stopped by from Tales of the Reborn Crafter

  5. I had a silver charm bracelet, too, but my favorite piece of jewelry is a gold wedding band of my great aunt that has her name inscribed on the inside. (she was never married)

  8. Your charm bracelet is a treasure. I wish I had thought to do this for Flashback! And now I see a couple of charms I used to have. I had a book...or Bible. I don't know what happened to it but I remember it was a little fat book! What sweet memories!

  9. Another former Girl Scout over here! I received my own charm bracelet when I was 14 .... it looks remarkable like yours! Nice, isn't it, that the safety chain-thingies came standard? I was looking at bracelets a few years ago and didn't see a one that contained that feature.
    Neat memories!

    1. That safety chain and bracelet was so well made. Very sturdy. It's always nice to run into another former scout!

  10. Love your charm bracelet, Kim. The charms always tell a wonderful story, don't they? I have one, too, and did a post about it a few birthdays ago!

Thanks so much for joining in this week!

  13. How special Kim! I remember having a little silver charm bracelet like that too, no idea what ever happened to it. I do have the gold charm bracelet that was started in the 70's sometime - it's overloaded with all kinds of charms. I should take some photos and then sell it considering what gold is worth these days along with the fact that I never wear it. Not sure I could part with it though.

  15. That's such a lovely heirloom, Kim, and so full of memories, no wonder it means so much to you! I treasure some of the costume jewelry I inherited from my grandmother, and a few things I was given as a child.

  16. I love your childhood charm bracelet. I still have mine but it doesn't have as many charms as yours. I love that you have a Tinkerbell charm. That's so cute. All of them are adorable. Thanks for sharing.
