Naperville has a pool area called "Centennial Beach." The interesting thing about this beach is that it was built from an old quarry. Go to the Ol' Swimming Hole cache page to read more about this unique beach. I'd like to go back in the summer and swim here - I think it would be kind of cool.
We crossed the bridge to get to the opposite side of the river and of course we had to stop and do a little phooning....
The original double quarry had been divided many years ago, leaving one side for the beach and pool and the other side is a paddle boat area. Of course we found the Paddleboat Fun cache over on that side as well.
Another unique thing that Naperville has is a Carillon. I would have loved to climb to the top of it but it was closed the day we were there.
We also did the nearby Hear the Bells Chime cache.
But I think my favorite cache of the day was "The Cat in the Hat"cache. It was located at the Naperville library. First we had to find the Cat in the Hat statue, get some information off of it and then figure out the co-ordinates of where the cache is hidden.
Once we had the correct co-ordinates we had to find the proper area for the cache. Can you guess where it is??
This was a really cute geocache.
Be sure to check out the Naperville Riverwalk if you're ever in the area. It's beautiful and it's a lovely way to spend the day.
I think it is so Awesome that you and your family get to go on these adventures together, thank you so much for taking us along too!! I love to read these posts!! There is a River Walk in Ft. Myers I want to check out, just to see what it's all about! Maybe one of these days!!
ReplyDeleteI had no idea there was a river walk in Ft. Myers. I bet there's geocaches there.....

ReplyDeleteThe statue outside was wonderful. Unfortunately they had a cleaning crew there working on it or we wold have gotten more pictures of it.

Thanks sweetie - we're heading out again tomorrow too. xo
DeleteLovin' these pictures ... especially y'all 'acting up' on the covered bridge! I think your other comment-ers share my thoughts ... you're so blessed to enjoy spending time with your sisters and parents! I know some folk who can hardly stand to be in the same room with their siblings once a year.
ReplyDeleteYes, I have been blessed with a wonderful family. Mom and dad just celebrated their 60th anniversary!
DeleteHi Kim! :)
ReplyDeleteI too think this is amazing that you get to do this with your family! I love seeing your photos and going on the adventure too. I have never been to Naperville. It looks like a nice spot to visit!
How is your trunk coming along? ;)
Kimberley
We were geocaching yesterday in Wisc and I have some GREAT photos to share later this week. Also, the reveal on the trunk. All I have left to do is wax it!!
