One of my absolute favorite places to visit when we're at the lake is The Hitching Post and Old Country Store.
Every time I go there they have added new things to look at. You name it, they've got it...
- signs
- antiques
- aprons
- books
- cups
- souvenirs
- coffee
- candy
- kitchen supplies
- fudge
- jams and jellies
I seriously could spend hours just wandering through the 2 stores.
When my parents came to visit earlier this month, the one thing my mom really wanted to do was go for their weekly Soda Tasting Party. It's held every Thursday and for $ 4.95 you get a souvenir shot glass and get to taste 20 different soda's. I've blogged about it before and you can check it out here.
Miss Traci is as sweet as can be and is very knowledgeable about the sodas. This year they have over 180 varieties to choose from. We sampled 10 soda's with Miss Traci and then moved down the counter......
.... and joined the lovely Miss Julie, who offered us a variety of 10 fruity soda's. Check out the brands below. I get such a kick out of the wild colors and the creative names.
A little Kickapoo Joy Juice anyone?
After making funny faces at each other with the masks....
...We picked out a 6 pack of different soda's to take home. The very charming Wesley was on deck and manning the counter that evening.
If you're anywhere near Kentucky Lake, be sure to stop by The Hitching Post and Old Country Store.
