For Mothers Day my daughter got me a new wood burning tool. The one I had was over 30 years old, so I think I was due for a new one. This one has interchangeable tips, which is very cool.
I like to look for nice wooden spoons at estate sales. I bring them home, clean them up really good, give them a good sanding and then burn them with the wood burner.
The last set is my favorite. The spoons are made out of some kind of heavy wood in a beautiful color. I'm going to be watching for more like these in the future.
Very cool idea!
ReplyDeleteThanks Diane They almost inspire me to cook more often.... almost.... :-)
DeleteWow Kim that's Way cool! will you mount them on the wall at the lake house or actually cook with them???...You could look for one of those collectable spoon holders and put them on that! How cool would that be?? Awesome ideas you have!!
ReplyDeleteI have them in a can on a hanging tin utensil holder at the lake house. And yes, I do use them.
DeleteEven better! I already had forgotten that! Great idea!
DeleteThese make a fun project. Keeps you from burning numbers into your house. Remember Opie did that on his house in Andy Griffith! heehee! Enjoy your holiday weekend sweet girl! Hugs, Diane
ReplyDeleteLOL - I think about that episode every time I take out that wood burning tool. What a riot.
DeleteYou have a nice weekend too. xo
I wondered if you were old enough to remember that. Of course...I guess we've all watched reruns! lol Enjoy your holiday Monday! Hugs!
DeleteWhat a great collection of spoons! and what a cute idea, Kim! You come up with some terrific ideas, girl.
ReplyDeleteHave a fun holiday weekend.

Oh, thanks Debbie. I hope you have a wonderful weekend. xo
DeleteI like them too! The older ones have a very time worn feel don't they? Great collection you have.
ReplyDeleteThe older ones are definitely my favorite. And it makes me mad to think of all the ones I never bought before this. xo
DeleteThat brings back memories- I had a wood burning set as a young child
ReplyDeleteOne of those "Safe" items we used as kids, like creepy crawler makers and soldering irons. I doubt that kind of thing would fly today. LOL!
DeleteHi Kim! Oh, this is so cool! How nice to get a new wood burning thingy and you've done a great job spiffing those pieces. Thanks for popping in to see me.
ReplyDeleteBe a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
It's just a lot of fun to play around with! xo
DeleteI have a wood burning tool too, I kind of forgot about it. After seeing your cool utensils I may have to dig mine out again!
