It's made of brass and stands 4" high and has a 3" diameter...
It says "LUSO" and is made in Portugal....
I can't even begin to guess what it is.
**UPDATE - Thanks for all the interesting guesses, but I think my friend Della over on FB had the best idea - an antique ink pot. What do you think?
It's a little container... bahahahahaha!!! Sorry, I couldn't resist!

LOL!!!
DeleteEven after checking eBay for LUSO souvineers, I'm stumped! All's I can imagine is a candle holder that at day's end one can tip upside down to extinguish.
ReplyDeleteNice guess - let's see what else people come up with.
DeleteCould it be copper, not brass? I found this sugar bowl from an expresso set or coffee set on etsy.https://www.etsy.com/listing/513570500/antique-douro-b-m-copper-espresso?ref=market
ReplyDeleteIt's definitely brass. Thanks for stopping by.
Deleteno idea - searched google images with no luck
ReplyDeleteMe neither. :-(
DeleteWhere do you find this stuff??? lol
ReplyDeleteGood luck!

My sister found this one. :-) Happy to see you girlfriend!
DeleteHi Kim- very cool little mid-century modern container. The pointy tip is just the little knob :) At least that's my 2 cents (from an avid MCM collector)
ReplyDeleteHi Dana - thanks for the guess and for stopping by!
DeleteI think I agree that the pointy tip just looks like a decorative knob. The first thing I thought of was the containers people kept on the top of the stove for lard. Interesting! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteThanks a great idea - but I think it's too small for that.
DeleteI did a google search and I'm wondering if it is part of a canister set. Didn't really see anything else like it!
ReplyDeleteMe neither. :-(
