Re-Purposed Tables

I'm been re-purposing stuff like crazy lately in a feeble attempt to clear out my stash of "Projects waiting to be done."   I am seriously beginning to look like a hoarder.  I'm staying away from estate sales for awhile.  My nail biting increases every time I drive past one and stare longingly out the window.

I picked up a 3 legged table awhile ago.  The top was cracked and peeling so I sanded it down a bit...

It got painted with a coat of gray and a dash of white, with a little black streaked through here and there.

Then it got distressed and waxed....

The other piece was a cute fold down table. I got this one from my friend Moira.....

I wasn't real crazy about the graphics, so I sanded it down....

Everything got painted in aqua blue, and then I dry brushed the top with a little white and gray....

I distressed and waxed the entire piece.   I love the dark blue that shows through on the lower shelf...

I've got both pieces for sale on Craigslist....

I have a hard time letting go of a lot of my pieces.  Does anyone else have that problem??

Linking up with....

  1. Hi Kim! You're on a roll, girly! Love your redone tables. The little 3 legged one is so sweet. I have about 4 of these from my mother and they're all wood now and I need to get out some paint and go to town on them. That's a cute little drop leafed one too! Hope all is well in your world.
    be a sweetie,
    Shelia ;)

    1. Thanks Shelia. I love the process of re-doing them. Sometimes I wish I could keep them all. Have a nice week.

  2. Sometimes after I buy a piece, I have every intention of reselling it... but I end up fostering it. Sometimes for months. Sometimes for years.

  3. Hi Kim! :)
I love your re-do on both tables! Love the fold down one, have never seen one quite like that before and love how it has handles! Love the color!!
I hear you about the hoarding, sometimes it can be very hard to pass up a good deal!
I do have a hard time letting go, but I have a rule now that when something comes in, something goes out! Like when I posted about the buffet I found at Goodwill for $6.00, my buffet went to a consignment shop and I kept the $6.00 re-do one!

  4. Hey Kim! I love what you've done with the tables! Yes you know I have that problem..shhh hoarding and it started with estate sales. I however have not been as ambitious as you! You inspire me to do something with my chairs, tables etc in my storage (hoarding) shed!...Always enjoy seeing what you've done!

    1. I would love to do this full time - unfortunately, nothing sells as quickly as I want it to. :-)

  6. Ohh, love the folding one...such a pretty color! It's a good thing I don't live closer to you, or I'd be buying just about everything (and then hubby would kill me, lol). You do such lovely work...I can't blame you for not wanting to let pieces go!

  8. I always have a fond spot for the demi-lune table - love the color choice on it. The country table became much more elegant with the aqua paint. Great transformation. i try to have a rule about finishing a project and making it go off to a new home. It is hard though.

    1. Well, so far they haven't sold, so I may be keeping them whether I want them or not. LOL.

  11. I have a hard time not going out to the estate sales also. It sure takes a lot of willpower. Great job on both of your table transformations. Thanks for sharing at VIParty.
