Last week we took the kids and went to one of my favorite restaurants - White Fence Farm. They are renowned for their excellent chicken and they never disappoint. We've been going there to eat since I was a kid and it's always a treat.
Out in front is the giant chicken.....
The restaurant is huge, with 12 separate dining areas, which all have special names - The Blue Room, The Red Room, The Garden Room, etc. The front foyer is a giant museum and it's really interesting to walk around and look at all the collectibles. Check out the carpeting in this photo below - it's white chickens!
Quite frankly, we sort of hurry through the museum area because we're in a big rush to get to the food. Once seated, they bring bowls to your table filled with cottage cheese, kidney bean salad, cole slaw, beets and corn fritters. We always order the chicken dinners, although they do have other items on the menu. Honestly, I've never had anything but the chicken. I mean, come on, look at this chicken. It's tender, juicy and has the best coating on it that I've ever eaten. Talk about melt in your mouth good!
Before lunch we had stopped and grabbed a few geocaches on our way to the restaurant. The first one was really jammed in place....
This one was one of the largest geocaches we've ever found. We had a hard time figuring out how to open it.
And my favorite of the day - the one that marked my 1900th geocache was located near this sign....
All in all it was a good day - friend chicken and geocaches - what's not to like?
Congrats on 1900!!!!
ReplyDeleteThat chicken does look so good! Fried chicken is one of my all time faves.
The chicken looks very good with such great sides. Who knew you could buy chicken carpet? Wow... 1900 caches. That's a lot of adventures. Do you have them all recorded in a book with photos... or just with your blog? Or wait, have you mentioned something about a log before? It's late... my brain is hazy! Sure wish I could send you this snow. I think Outside has had a pretty big non-winter winter. We've had a lot of winter... cold and snow. Will be glad to get out of this one.
ReplyDeleteThe geocaching website keeps track of all the caches, in the order that you do them. Its a great system. Plus any pictures that I upload to the cache pages get saved in a file for me. Its a nice online diary. I also have all my caching pictures saved in a file on a jump drive for easy retrieval.
Delete1900? Fabulous! That seems like quite a lot to me! How long has it taken you?
ReplyDeleteAnd that chicken looks perfectly scrumptious! Definitely not something you'd be able to find around here...
It took us about 20 months to get 1900.
DeleteCongrats on 1900! That is quite the accomplishment.
ReplyDeleteThe chicken is fantastic! Congratulations on the 1900
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the 1900.
ReplyDeleteThat restaurant looks like such a fun place to dine.
This is a great post that combines two of my most favorite things, FOOD and GEOCACHING!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on 1900! That's totally awesome!
