My poor dad had to "make do" with his 6kg turkey instead of the two 10kg ones he had ordered.
Fortunately with the ham, and the waldorf salad, and the yams, and the smashed potatoes, and the corn, and the stuffing, and the dips and chips to start with and the quiche lorraine and the spinach quiche someone brought... we fed 20 people and still have leftovers! There are even a few slices of cake and pie left. My dad always makes way to much food, and it's always delicious! He's a big hit with my sisters' and my friends. ;o)CrazyCrishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17512240982215608638noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2687899793433885679.post-51230249761239515782011-11-26T07:31:01.843-06:002011-11-26T07:31:01.843-06:00Who would think it would be so hard to find a turk...Who would think it would be so hard to find a turkey? He hunted around and finally managed to get a bird, but just one and he wanted 2 'cause they're small here! So now the turkey's in the oven and he's hunting around for a ham or something. Definitely not an easy holiday to organise in a country where it isn't a holiday! It's hard to find turkeys this far away from Christmas....CrazyCrishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17512240982215608638noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2687899793433885679.post-56839398008191906562011-11-25T21:42:17.598-06:002011-11-25T21:42:17.598-06:00Cris: Good luck securing your turkey. I hope your husband caught that turkey!!!
We're in the midst of a turkey crisis here... we're celebrating tomorrow since it's not a holiday in Spain and it's way to complicated to celebrate on Thurs. Anyhow my dad went to pick up the turkey.... and the delivery guy forgot to deliver them to the supermarket! My dad kind of went through the roof and the supermarket people called around until they found someone who could get a turkey there by 9 am tomorrow... which will still be tight for a 3pm meal (Spanish schedule). I'm looking forward to a very hectic day, but my first Thanksgiving with my family in 12 years! :o)CrazyCrishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17512240982215608638noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2687899793433885679.post-37675310950908655412011-11-25T00:43:14.638-06:002011-11-25T00:43:14.638-06:00I'm a little late, but....I wanted to say Happ...I'm a little late, but....I wanted to say Happy Thanksgiving, and I hope it was great!Dellahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07826435478377353342noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2687899793433885679.post-2800654290866439402011-11-24T20:23:02.331-06:002011-11-24T20:23:02.331-06:00All the best to you and the whole gang!
