Week One of Janathon Completed

Do I look like Superwoman??

Ok, week one of Janathon is completed!  I didn't do as well as I hoped but maybe next week will be better.  I managed to walk or run on the treadmill every day at least so I'm off to a good start.

Tonight I added 3.3 pound hand weights to my workout.  I hopped on the treadmill, put it at an incline of 9, set the speed for 3.3 which allows for a brisk walk and then I pumped the arm weights for an entire mile while I walked.

I would do 3 sets of 10 reps on my right arm doing arm curls, then switch to my left arm and repeat.  Then I go through and just do a bunch of different arm exercises.  I'm sorry but I can't tell you  the technical names of the exercises because I don't know them.  But it's stuff like "raise the weight over my head," or "raise my arms from my side over my head," and "swing the weights back and forth as I walk."  LOL.  Real technical descriptions I know, but you get the idea - just do it continuously for the entire mile.

It adds a nice element to my work out, gets my heart pumping a little, burns a few more calories and works out my arms.  Win, win, win!

  1. Good for you. A treadmill is on my bday list for March. I have wanted one for a while now. Even though we have nice weather here it is hard to get out everyday unless I push my kiddo and she is almost six so getting almost too big to fit in the jogger.

    1. I love my treadmill. I use it every day. If you get one, spend the money for a good one. We went "cheap" on our last one and it didn't last a year.

  3. You look amazing! Down right adorable. :) I decided to try doing Morse Code every day in January since I've been slacking off and I figured it was a more likely goal than exercise -- but no, I messed up already on that, too. I have never used a treadmill except in stress tests. You're the first person I've known who actually uses theirs!

Get back on that Morse code - you can do it.

    1. Where the heck have ya been?? I haven't seen you in awhile. Glad you're back,

Janathon is a JANuary exercise program where you commit to work out every day in January and then blog about it.

  6. Great job keeping with the daily routine. I myself hate treadmills and will run outside in almost any weather to escape their tedium! But I like being outdoors...
