Point of View

Here's a pretty nice buck that we saw in a field from our deer stand.   Louie and I were sitting about 20 ft. up in a tree and we watched this buck walk out from the woods.....

It's thrilling to see something like that move cautiously out into view.  He was very quiet and kept looking around.  I zoomed out a little with my lens...

Then I finally zoomed out all the way so I could show you how far we were from where the deer was.  You can just barely see him to the middle right of the photo.  He turned and dashed off.

He was in and out of that field in less than 2 minutes.  We didn't even shoot at him.  It was another nice afternoon in the woods tho....

  1. It's always fun to see wild animals when you're out in the woods. I especially enjoy seeing deer and elk.

  2. Was he too far out for a shot or were you waiting for a bigger buck? I would love to go deer hunting. Was in MN once with my ex... the men went hunting and I got stuck at home....out-of-state licenses were just too expensive. I hope I get to go moose hunting next year. Still haven't gotten one of those either. Only a caribou.

    1. He was well within our range, but we know there are bigger ones out there and we are holding out. We only get one buck tag, so we have to make it a good one.

Moose or caribou hunting would be AWESOME! I'd love to do that one time.

  5. Louie has eyes like a hawk and spies the deer so quickly. I'm usually sitting there whispering, "Where? I don't see anything. Are you sure?"
